Marks & Spencer (M&S) has launched a nationwide recall of its Milk Chocolate Honeycomb after discovering undeclared peanuts in certain packs. The retailer warned that the mislabelling poses a possible health risk to consumers with peanut allergies.

Customer safety is of paramount importance to Marks & Spencer and we take all issues regarding the production of our foods extremely seriously.”

The recall affects the 120g pack, lot number 5242, with a best-before date of 12 May 2026. The company stressed that the recall does not affect any other M&S products.

In their recall notice, the retailer said: “Customer safety is of paramount importance to Marks & Spencer and we take all issues regarding the production of our foods extremely seriously.

In the abundance of caution, M&S is recalling milk chocolate honeycomb due to the possible presence of undeclared peanuts in a small number of packs.

We apologise to our customers for any inconvenience caused.”

Peanut allergy remains one of the most serious food allergies worldwide. According to FARE, it is the most common food allergy in children under 18, and the third-most common in adults. For those with allergies, even trace amounts of peanuts can trigger severe or life-threatening reactions.

Marks & Spencer has notified relevant allergy support organisations to help spread awareness of the chocolate snack recall and issued in-store point-of-sale notices advising customers on next steps.

Shoppers who have purchased the affected product are advised not to consume it. Instead, they should return it to the nearest M&S store for a full refund. Customers can contact M&S for further information on 03330 148555.
