Bio-Rad offers a new and innovative approach to detecting and confirming STEC in food.

Bio-Rad has launched its dd-Check STEC Solution for detecting virulence genes from Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (STEC). The kit, which harnesses Bio-Rad’s Droplet Digital PCR (ddPCR) technology, is the first commercially available ddPCR test for determining the co-existence of the STEC virulence genes in a single bacterium and provides rapid and reliable confirmation of the presence of pathogenic STEC.
