Aldi has recalled thin cut beef steaks and custard tarts from UK shelves after undeclared allergens were discovered on product labels.

Aldi has recalled its Ashfields 30 Day Matured Thin Cut Beef Steaks and PYB02 PANATAS Part-Baked Custard Tarts across the UK after discovering undeclared allergens.
We apologise that this product did not meet our normal high standards and thank you for your co-operation.”
The retailer said the beef steaks contain undeclared milk as a result of a labelling error. The recall affects 360g packs of Ashfields 30 Day Matured Thin Cut Beef Steaks with a use by date of 26 October 2025.
Meanwhile, Aldi is also recalling PYB02 PANATAS Part-Baked 6 Pack Custard Tarts, which contain egg, milk and wheat (gluten). The custard tarts may also contain hazelnuts, sesame and soya, none of which appear on the packaging. The recall covers all best before dates.
Both products pose “a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance” to the undeclared ingredients, according to the Aldi recall notices.
According to the Food Standards Agency (FSA), Aldi has contacted relevant allergy support organisations, which will alert members to the recalls, and has issued clear point-of-sale notices in stores. These notices explain the risks and advise customers not to consume the products.
In both recall notices, Aldi stated: “We apologise that this product did not meet our normal high standards and thank you for your co-operation.”
Customers who have purchased the products are advised to return them to any Aldi store for a full refund. Further information is available via Aldi’s customer service helpline on 0800 042 0800 or at help.aldi.co.uk.
Aldi’s recalls come on the heels of similar action from Marks & Spencer, which last week withdrew its Milk Chocolate Honeycomb after discovering undeclared peanuts in some packs.
