High Noon is recalling two production lots of its 12-pack Beach Variety packs after discovering that some contain vodka seltzers mistakenly labelled as Celsius Astro Vibe Energy Drink, Sparkling Blue Razz Edition.

The affected cans feature silver tops and could easily be mistaken for non-alcoholic energy drinks, even though they contain alcohol.

The recall applies to products shipped to retailers between 21 and 23 July in eight US states: Florida, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Virginia and Wisconsin.

In a statement, the company warned:

Consumers are advised to dispose of the Celsius Astro Vibe Energy Drink, Sparkling Blue Razz Edition silver lid cans with the impacted lot codes (L CCB 02JL25 to L CCB 02JL25) and not consume the liquid.”

This error risks people unknowingly consuming alcohol, which poses health and safety concerns, especially for children or individuals who avoid alcohol for medical or religious reasons. So far, no one has reported illnesses or injuries, but the potential harm has raised serious alarm.

According to a statement on the US Food and Drug Administration’s website, the issue stems from a packaging supplier accidentally sending Celsius-branded cans to High Noon’s facility.

The affected High Noon Beach Variety 12-packs carry lot codes L CCC 17JL25 14:00 to 23:59 and L CCC 18JL25 00:00 to 03:00, printed on the exterior packaging. The mislabelled Celsius cans can be identified by their silver lids and bottom lot codes L CCB 02JL25 2:55 to 3:11. These were packed in error instead of the usual black-lid Celsius cans.

The company added:

High Noon Beach Variety packs with different lot codes are not affected by the recall and are safe to consume.”

The company urges consumers with affected packs to contact High Noon Consumer Relations ([email protected]) for disposal and refund instructions.

Mislabelled Ritz products also recalled in July

Earlier in July, Mondelēz recalled four carton sizes of Ritz cracker sandwiches after mistakenly labelling some peanut butter varieties as cheese. While the outer cartons display the correct allergen information, some individual packs inside incorrectly state “Cheese variety” despite containing peanut butter.
