New launches in the industry this month include vitamin-enriched eggs, a plant-based gut-friendly yoghurt range, and a new popcorn flavour in honour of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum jubilee.

What's New?

Stonegate Farmers, home to major egg brands such as Clarence Court, has launched enriched eggs in the UK. The eggs are produced by free-range hens that are fed on one of three enhanced diets that create the Enriched range: Energise, Defence, and Multi Vit. The Energise eggs are said to be rich in folic acid (also known as vitamin B9); whilst the Defence eggs contain Selenium, and the Multi Vit eggs are enriched with vitamins B12, D and A.

Elsewhere, Voortman, a crème wafer brand, has launched two new fruity wafer varieties – Raspberry Lemonade and Tropical Fruit – just in time for summer. These limited-time, seasonal wafers will be sold across the US and Canada from this month onwards.

Dewey’s bakery in North Carolina, US has released ‘Peanut Butter’ cookies available nationally from this month. Peanut Butter is the sixth variety to join existing flavours in Dewey’s cookie portfolio, which includes Triple Ginger, Meyer Lemon, Brownie Crisp, Toasted Coconut, and Salted Caramel. This low-calorie cookie contains no artificial ingredients, preservatives or synthetic colours, according to the company.

In the UK, Peperami has announced its latest product innovation: Vegerami. The new vegetarian snack launched initially in Tesco, but will be available in other supermarkets soon. The Vegerami range marks the second time the company has ventured into the meat-free category.

The Coconut Collab – a small British company creating plant-based yoghurts and puddings coconuts – has launched what it claims is the UK’s first plant-based yoghurt range dedicated to promoting better gut health. The new Gut Health, Cultured Coconut Yog range debuted in Sainsbury’s stores nationwide earlier this month. Naturally free from dairy, soya and gluten, the yoghurts are made with ethically farmed coconuts.

Another sweet treat that has been unveiled on the British market is Popcorn Shed’s new Strawberries & Cream flavour popcorn. The flavour was created to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee (2-5 June 2022), a celebration in the UK which marks the anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation 70 years ago.
