Lidl has issued a recall for four varieties of its Alesto Raw Fruit & Nut Bars after it was discovered they may contain pieces of plastic, making them unsafe to eat.
The supermarket warned that due to the “possible presence of plastic foreign bodies”, the snack bars may present a “choking hazard”.
The affected products are:
- Alesto Cocoa & Orange 5 Raw Fruit & Nut Bars (5x35g)
- Alesto Blueberry Muffin 5 Raw Fruit & Nut Bars (5x35g)
- Alesto Salted Caramel 5 Raw Fruit & Nut Bars (5x35g)
- Alesto Berry 5 Raw Fruit & Nut Bars (5x35g)
All packs carry the batch code L24316 and L24337 and best before dates of November 2025 and December 2025.
Return process
Point-of-sale notices are being displayed in all Lidl stores selling these products to inform customers about the recall and the return process.
Following the recall, Lidl issued the following statement:
We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your cooperation.”
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) added: “If you have bought any of the above products do not consume them. Instead, return them to the store from where they were bought for a full refund. For further information, please contact Lidl Customer Care on [email protected] or 0203 966 5566.”
This is the latest supermarket recall this week following Spar NI’s recall of several cooked chicken products due to the presence of listeria monocytogenes.
