Illva Saronno S.p.A has announced a recall of selected 700ml bottles of its Disaronno Originale liqueur after the potential presence of glass fragments was identified in a number of batches sold in England and Scotland.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has confirmed that the affected bottles may contain micro-fragments of glass, making the product unsafe to drink. The recall covers the following batch codes: 25374, 25375, 25381, 25382, 25435, 25442 and 25444.
According to the company, the issue stems from an “anomaly on a bottling line”, which may have introduced small shards of glass into some units. Illva Saronno S.p.A said consumer safety “is our priority” and apologised for any inconvenience caused.
