Tesco has recalled its Stir Fry Tikka Chicken ready meal after undeclared egg and mustard were discovered in the accompanying sauce sachet.

Tesco is recalling its Stir Fry Tikka Chicken ready meals from shelves after egg and mustard were discovered in the sauce sachet but not declared on the label.

The 650g packs, marked with a use-by date of 7 September 2025, could pose a health risk to anyone with an allergy or intolerance to egg or mustard.

The supermarket giant has warned customers not to eat the affected product and to instead return it to any Tesco store for a full refund. A receipt is not required.

In a statement, Tesco said:

No other Tesco products are affected. We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused.”

The company has reached out to relevant allergy support organisations to alert their members about the risk. Tesco have also placed point-of-sale notices to inform shoppers about the risks and what to do next.

The supermarket has advised customers seeking further information on the recall to visit its customer help page at tesco.com/help/contact.

Recent high-profile recalls from across the pond

Across, the Atlantic, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) widened its recall of frozen shrimp from Aquastar and Kroger after discovering traces of radioactive cesium-137, impacting over 44,000 packages sold across retailers.

Last week, the FDA also issued a recall of Country Eggs’ large brown cage-free eggs following a salmonella outbreak, which has sickened 95 people across 14 states and hospitalised 18.
