Danone secures rare CDP Triple A rating for environmental leadership and transparency

Danone has secured the CDP ‘Triple A’ rating for 2025, ranking the food group among a small elite for environmental leadership and transparency.

The rating assesses corporate performance on climate change, water stewardship and forest preservation. Out of nearly 20,000 companies scored by CDP this year, only 23 made the ‘A’ List across all three categories.

The recognition highlights Danone’s progress on disclosure, governance and verified environmental action, as food and drink manufacturers face growing pressure to demonstrate credible sustainability strategies across complex global supply chains.

Antoine de Saint-Affrique, CEO of Danone, said:

Year after year, we deliver tangible progress on our health, environmental, and social ambitions. This is a demanding journey – one that requires the engagement of our entire value chain, working together to build resilient and sustainable food systems.

As we achieved full B Corp™ certification in 2025, I am proud that Danone’s efforts have once again been recognised by CDP. These external recognitions demonstrate our enduring commitment to meet the highest standards that combine performance and sustainability and I am grateful to our teams whose dedication makes these achievements possible.”

Sherry Madera, CEO of CDP, added:

Congratulations to all companies on CDP’s A List. Businesses earning an ‘A’ score are proving that environmental ambition and commercial strength go hand in hand. High quality data gives leaders the confidence to make earth-positive decisions that secure long-term competitiveness, attract capital and safeguard natural systems. These organisations show what is possible when transparency becomes the foundation for action.”

In 2025, Danone advanced its Danone Impact Journey with a focus on cutting greenhouse gas emissions, including methane reduction in fresh milk sourcing, and supporting farmers through the launch of its Danone Milk Academy.

The group also strengthened water stewardship by publishing its SPRING methodology and renewing its partnership with the Ramsar Convention, while forest protection efforts included expanded satellite monitoring and deeper supplier engagement.

The CDP recognition coincides with Danone achieving full global B Corp™ certification, covering more than 200 legal entities across over 60 countries.
