Anheuser-Busch, the brewer behind Budweiser, Bud Light and Michelob ULTRA, has announced a $300 million investment in its US manufacturing operations for 2025 – strengthening its supply chain, boosting workforce training and expanding support for veterans.

The investment is part of the company’s broader ‘Brewing Futures’ initiative, which aims to build long-term resilience in American manufacturing and support local economies.

With this latest announcement, Anheuser-Busch has reportedly invested nearly $2 billion in its US facilities over the past five years.

Brendan Whitworth, CEO of Anheuser-Busch said:

This new $300 million investment in our manufacturing facilities across the U.S. is the latest example of Anheuser-Busch’s commitment to strengthening our local communities by creating and sustaining jobs and driving economic prosperity.

Investing in our people and in new technologies and capabilities to drive industry and economic growth is core to who we are.”

The three-pronged initiative focuses on job creation, workforce development and veteran employment. According to the brewer, the 2025 investment will target facility upgrades and regional training centres to future-proof its operations and upskill employees.

A key feature of the plan is the expansion of the company’s Technical Excellence Center model. Since 2022, over 1,200 employees have trained at the original centre in St. Louis. Now, a second facility will launch in Columbus, Ohio, serving both company staff and local trade school students.

“Anheuser-Busch’s renewed commitment to supporting workers with family-sustaining wages in Columbus is excellent news,” said Ohio Representative Mike Carey. “By investing millions in comprehensive education programs right here in Ohio, Anheuser-Busch is creating pathways to success for Ohioans in our communities.”

Long-time commitment to US workforce

Beyond its internal workforce, Anheuser-Busch is opening the training facilities to external learners in collaboration with the Manufacturing Institute and local trade schools – broadening access to hands-on, industry-relevant education.

The company is also enhancing career opportunities for veterans by adopting a new digital credentialing system that translates military experience into manufacturing qualifications. Partnering with the Heroes MAKE America programme, Anheuser-Busch becomes the first major US manufacturer to roll out this system across its recruitment processes.

“Anheuser-Busch has been a shining example of what ‘Made in America’ means,” said US Secretary of Labor Lori Chavez-DeRemer. “Their latest investment of $300 million builds on their long time commitment to grow our workforce and expand US manufacturing. They are demonstrating exactly what it means to put American workers first.”

Veterans already make up over 10 percent of Anheuser-Busch’s workforce, with nearly 60 percent in manufacturing roles. The company also reports a near-100 percent retention rate for this group.

“Anheuser-Busch’s $300 million investment is more than a commitment to manufacturing in America—it’s a commitment to America’s future,” added Jay Timmons, President and CEO of the National Association of Manufacturers. “They are opening doors of opportunity for manufacturing workers across this country.”
