Tesco has launched a new Indian Banquet range under its Finest label, developed in partnership with Bakkavor, to mark National Curry Week (6–13 October 2025).

National Curry Week has been celebrated in the UK since 1998 and continues to highlight Britain’s strong appetite for Indian cuisine. Tesco’s latest launch aims to meet that demand by bringing the experience of a traditional Indian feast into UK homes.

Available in Tesco stores nationwide, each dish in the new Finest range serves two, letting shoppers mix and match favourites with contemporary twists on classic recipes.

The collection features three mains – Butter Chicken, Makhani Chicken and Slow Cooked Beef Madras – alongside four sides: Paneer Makhani Samosa, Slow Cooked Black Dahl, Melt-in-the-Middle Onion Bhajis and Jewelled Pilau Rice.

Laura James, Development Controller at Bakkavor, said: “Our team has worked hard to create a range that brings together much-loved classics and exciting twists on Indian cuisine. With Tesco Finest Indian Banquet for two, customers can enjoy the indulgence of a restaurant-style meal with the convenience of enjoying it at home – the perfect way to celebrate National Curry Week.”

The Tesco Finest Indian banquet launch comes at a pivotal time for Bakkavor. Greencore is in the process of completing a £1.2 billion acquisition of Bakkavor that will create a major new force in the UK’s convenience food sector. The deal will unite two of the country’s largest chilled food producers into a single group with combined annual revenues approaching £4 billion.
