Synergy Tastes joins as a manufacturer and supplier of flavourings, extracts and essences and is based in the UK together with TdeltaS, a biotech company that deals with with nutraceuticals. Active Nutrition International, on the other hand, is based in Germany and is known for, among other things, its PowerBar brand.

Highlighting ESSNA’s diversity, Nutritional Products International joins the association as a sales and management company that specialises in marketing products in the United States. ICAAS, meanwhile, is a not for profit organisation established in Japan that explores the science around the use of amino acids. This extensive expansion highlights how ESSNA continues to expand its range of membership and the reach of its members from across the EU and beyond.

ESSNA is the voice of the sports nutrition industry and is in dialogue with regulators and policy makers, campaigning in favour of proportionate EU legislation that does not adversely affect the industry. ESSNA also acts to “police” the industry by monitoring and reporting irresponsible companies that flout EU law and may put consumers at potential risk from dangerous products.

Dr Adam Carey, Chair of ESSNA, said:

“We’re delighted to welcome all these hugely respected organisations to our membership and very much look forward to working alongside them in future. This solid growth of ESSNA’s membership perfectly reflects our increasing efforts to engage with EU regulators to make sure consumers are always protected and also coincides with our recently launched initiative to educate consumers on how to responsibly use sports nutrition products. We believe these new members will add great value to ESSNA’s future activities in this regard.”
