The new regional distribution centre (RDC) will service food manufacturers in London and the South East of England.

The (RDC) will link into Gist’s European temperature controlled network, providing a gateway into UK retailers for food producers in Western Europe. The site represents an expansion of Gist’s temperature controlled primary network which provides national coverage for chilled volume to the major retailers. The RDC will open in May 2016 and will offer transport, cross-docking and consolidation and a range of added value warehouse services.

Commenting on the opening of the RDC, Martin Gwynn, Chief Executive, Gist, said: “Gist is delighted to announce the opening of our new regional distribution centre. Our network capability continues to grow as we support the success of our customers. Gist’s world-class supply chain operations make the best use of our national network to link temperature controlled food suppliers and retailers across the UK and Europe, every day of the year.”

Gist’s customers (including 2Sisters Food Group, Tesco, Waitrose, Muller, Morrisons in Motion, Bakkavor, Kerry Foods, Starbucks, EAT, and Marks and Spencer) operate in a wide range of commercial and industrial sectors, including grocery, food service and gas.
