IAFP will hold a Late Breaking Session titled “E. coli O104 Outbreak in Europe – Update and Dialogue” on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 as part of IAFP 2011, the Annual Meeting of the International Association for Food Protection in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The session, scheduled from 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 noon, will begin with a 90-minute symposium with leading authorities from Europe speaking on issues related to the outbreak. The symposium will be followed by a 90-minute roundtable with additional experts joining speakers for discussion and audience participation. This roundtable is an excellent opportunity to hear first-hand about the latest progress of this investigation.

The recent outbreak of the E. coli strain STEC O104:H4, the most deadly on record, is responsible for at least 48 deaths and has infected more than 4,000 people in Europe and the U.S.
