Barilla has released its study on the environmental impacts of pasta conducted with the life cycle assessment methodology through the publication of the Environmental Product Declaration. If we don’t consider the home cooking phase, which does not fall under company dominion, durum wheat cultivation is responsible for more than 80 per cent of the ecological footprint, approximately 60 per cent of the carbon footprint and almost the entirety of the water footprint.
