Healthy Food Brands has announced that its food manufacturing facility in Manchester, Speciality Food Manufacturing, has been awarded a British Retail Consortium (BRC) Global Standards Grade A for food safety.

The BRC Global Standards is known to be one of the most challenging, rigorous and complete Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards, demanding an established and comprehensive system governing food quality and safety.

Achieving the BRC Global Standards for food safety required Speciality Food Manufacturing to demonstrate excellence in all areas of Good Manufacturing Practice to ensure consistently high quality and safety standards.

Manufacturing of Healthy Food Brands’ products moved to the Wythenshawe-based site earlier in 2012, where the Speciality Food Manufacturing team now oversees production of brands including the new Free & Easy ‘free from’ foods and drinks range, PLj Lemon Juice, Honegar and the food essences and cooking essentials range, Rayner’s.

Healthy Food Brands’ managing director, Cliff Moss said: “We are delighted that the hard work of the Speciality Food Manufacturing team has been recognised with this outstanding accreditation. We are firmly committed to delivering excellence in food quality and safety across all of our brands and this certification pays testament to the diligence of our manufacturing team while underpinning our dedication to producing the finest health foods and drinks.”
