HEINEKEN N.V. today announced that Nico Nusmeier, Regional President HEINEKEN Central and Eastern Europe, has decided to leave HEINEKEN. Effective January 1, 2012 he will be succeeded by Jan Derck van Karnebeek, currently Managing Director, Romania. In his new role, Jan Derck will be based in Vienna as a member of HEINEKEN’s Executive Committee, reporting to Jean-François van Boxmeer, Chairman of the Executive Board/CEO.

Commenting on the changes, Jean-François van Boxmeer said: “Throughout his long successful career with HEINEKEN, Nico has always been a strong, professional colleague, making a significant contribution and positive difference to our business. Under his leadership as Regional President, Central and Eastern Europe has grown considerably through organic growth, M&A and innovations, transforming the region into an important platform for future growth. Nico leaves with our thanks for his contribution to the success of our company.”
