Rectory Food Group Ltd has created a new Ingredients division – Rectory Foods Ingredients Ltd – to provide the food manufacturing sector with high quality, competitively-priced food ingredients from across the globe.

The new division offers a comprehensive portfolio of food ingredients including Individually Quick Frozen (IQF) fruits and vegetables, seeds and pulses, garlic and ginger and dehydrated products such as chilli, onion, mushrooms, peppers and tomatoes. There are 50 primary products in the division, with sub- categories for each product, resulting in around 100 lines in total.

The ingredients are available to food manufacturers and processors, both for branded and own label foods, direct from head office and via a network of wholesalers and distributors. They are perfect for adding to ready meals, soups and sauces, international foods and can be supplied to the herbs and spices sector and to retail packers.

All products can be supplied in a range of quantities and packaging from 680kg bulk containers to retail packs and own label, subject to volume.

While the food industry has experienced price hikes on certain ingredients, Rectory Food Group is able to offer competitive prices to provide its customers with significant cost savings. Its sourcing strategy and strong supplier relations mean that food manufacturers can keep their costs down to meet requirements from retailers, while still offering a consistently high standard of product.

Matthew Armitage, Divisional Director manages this arm of the business with a team of six industry experts. He comments: “This is a very positive move for Rectory Food Group as it means we now have a dedicated division for Ingredients. We have conservatively targeted sales of £5 million in our first year but I would like to think that we will exceed those predictions.

“We are delighted to be able to offer our customers our range of ingredients, at competitive prices, to help ease the pressures on them to cut costs of end products where possible.

“We rigorously check the quality of all raw material, monitor all processing facilities and analyse the finished product to ensure it meets the quality demanded in the UK. Working alongside European, Chinese and Thai BRC-approved processors we source only premium quality ingredients and are able to offer our customers competitive price points due to our excellent supplier relationships.

“We have done extensive research into ingredient production, processing and facilities and have invested significant time and resources to ensure that all suppliers meet our strict accreditation standards and can guarantee product consistency.

“We are offering a range of pack sizes, quantities and storage options to meet the needs of British food manufacturers and their individual requirements and can also offer advice on the market place to allow our customers to plan effectively. We are already working with several food manufacturers and processors and our ingredients are being used in sauces, ready meals, bakery products, Indian foods and we are keen to speak to companies about their specific needs.”

Armitage concludes: “The launch of the new Ingredients Division will help to drive the company forwards as we continue to expand Rectory Food Group’s portfolio to become a major force in the food industry.”

Rectory Food Group has a dedicated technical department to ensure all its suppliers meet BRC standards. As well as ingredients, the company also supplies poultry and red meat (Acura Foods) on a national and international level and has a facility in Lithuania, UAB Baltreka to support the Baltic region.
