Richard Robinson is an experienced food industry executive with a track record of creating organic growth and increased profitability. He was most recently commercial director and business unit director of Northern Foods’ Frozen Division and prior to that spent nine years at Young’s Seafood in senior sales roles.

Based in Stanley, County Durham, Intersnack UK has three factories and is a major producer for private label as well as manufacturing its own best-selling Pom-Bear and Penn State brands. It offers a comprehensive range of baked and fried snacks, popcorn, seeds and fruit. It is also the UK’s biggest processor of nuts.

Richard Robinson says, “With value growth running at around 6%, the crisps, snacks and nuts category continues to be one of grocery’s most buoyant sectors and Intersnack has a sound business model and a strong portfolio of great products. I’m delighted to have joined the company at such an exciting time and look forward to working with the team to start to put our exciting development plans into action.”

Intersnack UK is part of the pan-European Intersnack Group and as such also has access to the full portfolio of products from the parent company’s 30 sites around Europe. Intersnack Group has a 16% share of the total European snacks market and turnover of €1.5BN, employing more than 6000 people in total.
