The UK functional foods category is set for a new arrival in the shape of Vetta High Fibre Pasta, offering a healthy and innovative alternative to retailers.
Produced and crafted by Australian company Rinoldi, Vetta’s High Fibre range provides consumers with a high-fibre option that looks and tastes the same as standard, everyday pasta. Vetta says its High Fibre range is low GI and naturally low in fat making it ideal for those monitoring their blood glucose levels, or for those looking to introduce low GI foods into their everyday diets. Nutritionists highlight the importance of fibre in an everyday diet. Whilst a diet high in fibre may aid in lowering the risk of heart disease and diabetes, benefits have also been known to include stabilising blood glucose levels, maintaining and assisting with weight loss, and the ability to prevent or relieve constipation. A diet high in fibre also helps to reduce the risk of digestive and bowel diseases.
The range was recognised by Australian consumers in 2014 as the country’s number one healthy pantry staple of the year.
