Brazil’s BRF S.A., one of the biggest producers of refrigerated and frozen protein foods in the world, has announced a joint venture with UK’s Invicta Food Group Limited for the distribution of processed food in the United Kingdom, Ireland and Scandinavia.
Invicta Food Group, comprising companies that import and distribute a wide variety of meat products, already has a strong presence in UK food services which it will contribute to the joint venture. BRF subsidiary, BRF GmbH will contribute its operations in the UK and Scandinavia as well as £18 million for a 62% stake in the venture.
The joint venture fits with BRF’s strategic plan to globalise the Company – assessing local markets, strengthening BRF’s brands, and distributing and expanding its product portfolio around the globe.
