Campbell appoints James Wong President, Greater China and Far East

Campbell Soup Company (NYSE:CPB) today announced the appointment of James Wong, 47, to the role of President, Greater China and Far East. In this role, Wong will oversee the company’s business in Greater China, the Campbell-Swire joint venture and Campbell’s operations in the Far East, which includes Hong Kong and Taiwan.Wong will be based in Campbell’s Shanghai office and will report to Luca Mignini, President − Campbell International. His appointment is effective Jan. 1, 2014.

Wong has more than 23 years of global experience in the consumer goods industry. In his most recent role as Executive Director and General Manager, Greater China for SC Johnson, Wong was responsible for developing the company’s long-term strategy for China, where he managed a cross-functional business. Wong joined SC Johnson in 2001 and held commercial, sales and general management positions of increasing seniority.

Mignini said, “James is a well-rounded leader with P&L management, sales and marketing experiences across Greater China. His expertise in building share and driving sales combined with his deep knowledge of the rapidly-changing Chinese market will be an asset to Campbell as we expand in this important, fast-growing region.”

Earlier in his career, Wong held general management, marketing and sale roles across Asia with global companies such as Coca-Cola, Colgate-Palmolive, Duracell and Nestlé.

Wong holds a Bachelor of Social Science in psychology/management and a Master of Business Administration from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and also completed the General Management Program at Harvard Business School.
