  •  DHL to manage operation for newly acquired ambient range until 2017
  • Sector experience, capability and established distribution network secured the deal

DHL Supply Chain has won a multi-million pound contract with multiple category food manufacturer, Hain Daniels, whose brands include Hartley’s, Robertson’s, Sun Pat and Gale’s. The deal that will run until 2017 sees the creation and implementation of a new supply chain network for the food manufacturer’s recently acquired ambient product range. Commencing immediately, DHL will manage storage, handling, dispatch and customer deliveries from its multi-user distribution centre in Huntingdon.

In a competitive market, DHL’s breadth of experience in the FMCG sector, along with the tailored and cost effective solution proposed, secured the deal. A long-standing reputation of managing sophisticated change management programmes assured

Hain Daniels of a seamless implementation of the operation, mitigating the risk of product substitution or poor service provision.

Alex Tompkins, Head of UK Supply Chain, Hain Daniels said: “Having operated a principally chilled supply chain for many years, our decision to outsource the operation for ambient meant the development of an entirely new supply chain for the business. Delivering for customers is crucial to ensuring we remain competitive, so picking the right partner was important. DHL demonstrated exceptional expertise in the sector, flexibility in meeting our business needs and a readiness to do business with us – we’re delighted to be working together.”

David McDonald, Vice President of Consumer, DHL Supply Chain added: “Our multi-user capability at Huntingdon, combined with a cost effective solution and established consumer distribution network were significant in Hain Daniels’ decision to work with us. Through this new partnership, we will continue to grow our footprint in this sector, implementing further initiatives to streamline the operation and support Hain Daniels’ strategic growth.”
