IONICON is the world’s leading manufacturer of real-time trace gas analysers for monitoring low concentrated volatile organic compounds (VOCs), based on the unique Proton Transfer Reaction – Mass Spectrometry (PTR-MS) technology.

The main PTR-MS applications within food, flavour and fragrance research cover: aroma and taste profiling, nose-space and breath analysis without sample preparation in real-time, head-space analysis of samples, analysis of food packaging, and quality control of coffee beans, olive oil, fruits etc.

In addition to its laboratory trace gas analysers, IONICON also produces specialized VOC monitoring solutions for industrial applications, such as the coffee bean roasting process, or for field deployment.

IONICON hosts an application lab at its headquarters in Innsbruck, Austria offering analytical services to its customers, from initial sample tests to long-term studies.
