New Food hears from BakesterBox’s Founder on why the pandemic incited a baking frenzy, the perks of kits, and whether she thinks they’re here to stay.

Had it not been for Covid, my baking kit business may never have launched, let alone enjoyed the success and exposure it has done.

I am a 32-year-old Le Cordon Bleu‑trained pastry chef and founder of BakesterBox, a home-baking kit business that delivers gourmet ingredients, handy equipment and expert baking know-how to your door.

The initial idea to create BakesterBox – and, importantly, the time needed to develop it – was a result of the first UK lockdown scuppering my plans of working in a professional kitchen following graduation.
