Beyond Meat moves beyond meat alternatives, launching a plant-based protein drink range targeting the fast-growing functional beverage market.

Beyond Meat is accelerating its expansion beyond meat alternatives with the launch of Beyond Immerse, a plant-based protein drink range aimed at the rapidly growing global functional food and beverage market.
The move comes as the company continues to widen its retail footprint, following a major Walmart expansion announced in October that introduced a new Beyond Burger six-pack and expanded distribution of its plant-based products to more than 2,000 US stores.
Beyond Immerse marks a strategic shift for the brand, combining plant protein, fibre, antioxidants and electrolytes in a ready-to-drink format designed to support muscle, gut and immune health. The global functional food and beverage market was valued at USD 364bn in 2024 and is forecast to reach USD 793.6bn by 2032, highlighting the scale of the opportunity Beyond Meat is targeting.
Ethan Brown, founder and CEO of Beyond Meat, said:
With Beyond Immerse, we are bringing our pioneering expertise in unlocking the power of plants to a functional beverage line. Our intent is simple: immerse the consumer in the remarkable nutrition of plants – from protein to fiber, with the addition of antioxidants and electrolytes – all in a single refreshing and satisfying 12 fl oz drink.
Beyond Immerse has been specially and carefully designed to provide nutrients that are critical to muscle health, gut health and immune function, so that whatever the goal is, consumers can Go Beyond.”
The range launches in three flavours – Peach Mango, Lemon Lime and Orange Tangerine – with each flavour available in two protein options: a 10g protein version delivering 7g fibre and 60 calories, and a 20g protein option with 7g fibre and 100 calories. Across the range, the formulation combines pea protein and tapioca fibre with electrolytes, delivering high fibre and antioxidant vitamin C without GMOs or sugar alcohols.
Beyond Immerse is available for a limited time exclusively through Beyond Test Kitchen.
