Ferrero has recalled specific batches of its frozen Nutella bakery products across the UK and six European countries over concerns that some products may contain metal.
The precautionary recall affects selected batches of Nutella Croissant and Nutella Muffin distributed across Belgium, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Romania, Spain and the UK. In the UK, the recall is limited to Nutella Croissant. Ferrero confirmed that no other products in its portfolio are impacted and that consumers can continue to purchase and enjoy all other Ferrero products as usual.

The company has informed food safety authorities in each of the affected countries and is coordinating with retailers and supply chain partners to ensure the affected products are removed from the market as efficiently as possible.

UK recall details
The UK recall applies to frozen Nutella Croissant four-pack products from the following batches:
- Batch code L126Z39 – Best before 06 May 2027
- Batch code L127Z39 – Best before 07 May 2027
For UK consumers, Ferrero has advised: “If you have bought the above product do not eat it. Instead, dispose the product or return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.”
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) said point-of-sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores selling the affected product to explain the recall and advise customers on the action they should take.
