Mettler-Toledo Product Inspection is introducing new metal detection, x-ray inspection and connected data management technologies at Interpack 2026 as food manufacturers increase focus on automation, traceability and production efficiency.

Mettler-Toledo Product Inspection is using Interpack 2026 to showcase a range of new inspection technologies designed to support smarter and more connected food manufacturing operations.
The company’s exhibition focus centres on contamination detection, integrity verification, weight control, label inspection and connected software systems as manufacturers continue to increase investment in automated and data-driven production environments.
Among the launches is the new M50 R-Series AdvancedLine metal detector range, developed to improve detection sensitivity while supporting traceability, data connectivity and operational performance across packaged, unpackaged and bulk food applications.
Mettler-Toledo is also introducing the X56 DXD+ dual-energy photon-counting x-ray inspection system, designed for complex packaged products. According to the company, the system is capable of identifying low-density contaminants including plastic, rubber and wood in applications where overlapping textures and varying product densities can make inspection more challenging.
In addition to contamination detection, the x-ray platform supports integrity checks such as completeness verification and seal inspection during high-throughput production.
Connected inspection and digital manufacturing focus
The company is also highlighting the integration of AI capabilities within its x-ray inspection portfolio. Mettler-Toledo said the AI-driven technologies are intended to improve inspection accuracy in difficult production scenarios, including overlapping products, mixed product types and variable product positioning on conveyor lines.
According to the company, the systems are designed to improve inspection reliability while reducing unnecessary product rejection and supporting more consistent line performance.
Alongside inspection hardware, Mettler-Toledo is showcasing its ProdX™ data management software, which collects and records inspection data from multiple devices in real time. The software is intended to support traceability, audit readiness and centralised production monitoring while reducing reliance on manual documentation processes.
The company is also demonstrating a range of combination inspection systems integrating checkweighing, metal detection, x-ray inspection and vision inspection technologies within single platforms intended to reduce equipment footprint and simplify line integration.
Speaking ahead of Interpack, Daniela Verhaeg, Communications Manager at Mettler-Toledo Product Inspection, said food manufacturers are operating in an environment increasingly shaped by compliance pressures, operational complexity and efficiency demands.
Interpack 2026 visitors will be able to view live demonstrations of the systems at Hall 11, Stand A60.
