Iceland recalls Daily Bakery 4 Sub Rolls due to undeclared barley, posing a health risk to those with a barley allergy or gluten intolerance.

Iceland Foods has issued a precautionary recall of its Daily Bakery 4 Sub Rolls due to the potential presence of undeclared barley, posing a safety risk for individuals with an allergy or intolerance to gluten.
The affected product is sold in packs of four with a best before date of 02 June 2025.
According to the retailer, the product may contain barley that is not mentioned on the label, which could trigger allergic reactions in those sensitive to it.
Product details:
- Product: Daily Bakery 4 Sub Rolls
- Pack size: 4 rolls
- Best before: 02 June 2025
- Allergen: Gluten (from undeclared barley)
Point of sale notices will be displayed in all Iceland stores where the product was sold, informing customers of the recall and advising them on next steps.
In a statement, the retailer said:
“We are taking the precautionary measure of recalling the date code of the above product as it may contain undeclared Barley and therefore poses a potential risk to people that have an allergy or intolerance to Barley. Only the Best Before date listed in this notice is affected.”
Customers who have purchased the sub rolls are urged not to eat the product. Instead, it should be returned to any Iceland store for a full refund, no receipt is required.
