Discount retailer pulls salmon product nationwide after labelling error extended shelf life by two months, prompting a food safety warning.

Aldi has recalled The Fishmonger Hot Smoked 2 Salmon Fillets – Honey Roasted after a labelling error listed the wrong use-by date, creating a potential food safety risk.
The recall affects 180g packs labelled with a use-by date of 25 June 2026. Aldi says the correct use-by date is 25 April 2026, meaning the product could become unsafe to eat after that earlier date.
The retailer has removed the affected product from sale and placed point-of-sale notices in stores selling it. The notices explain the issue and advise customers what to do if they have bought the item.
Customers who bought the product should not eat it and should return it to the store where they purchased it for a full refund.
We apologise that this product did not meet our normal high standards and thank you for your co-operation.”
Customers can find further details at help.aldi.co.uk/s or contact Aldi Customer Services on 0800 042 0800.
