Mars shares plans for a $237 million baking facility in the US

As part of its Nature’s Bakery project, Mars has announced it will be opening a 339,000 sq. ft. baking facility in Salt Lake City.

Opening in Salt Lake City, Utah, Mars has announced that it will be opening a $237 million baking facility as part of its Nature’s Bakery project.

The new facility is set to create over 190 jobs in a 339,000 sq. ft. baking space come July 2025 when the facility is scheduled to open.

Founded in 2011 and headquartered in Reno, Nevada, Nature’s Bakery, part of Mars, Incorporated family of brands, is now the eighth “best-selling and fastest-growing granola and snack bar brand” in a +$4B category.

Currently, Nature’s Bakery products are sold across the US in stores including Target, Walmart, and Costco.

Speaking on the opening of its new baking facility, Steve Gardiner, CEO of Nature’s Bakery, said: “I am thrilled for our strategic expansion with the establishment of a cutting-edge baking facility in Salt Lake City.

Nature’s Bakery has been part of the Mars family of companies since 2020, with Juan Martin, Health & Wellness president at Mars, Incorporated, sharing that the investment “symbolises our dedication to scaling our brands responsibly, upholding Mars’ pledge to be America’s prime destination for insurgent brands.”
