Providing flow rates from microlitres to 90 cubic metres per hour, peristaltic and sinusoidal pumps from the Watson-Marlow Pumps Group are widely used in food production for handling very viscous and shear-sensitive foods. These include chocolate, curds and whey, as well as mixtures containing ham or cheese, and soft fruit pieces, where end-product consistency is paramount.
Benefiting from large pumping chambers and the gentle wave action of the sinusoidal rotor, the MasoSine pump is unrivalled in its ability to preserve and maintain product integrity. The exclusive single rotor design maintains a constant volumetric displacement throughout the pumping cycle, providing a smooth and consistent flow profile, without the pulsation spikes typically associated with conventional rotary pumps.
Both the sine and peristaltic pump ranges are self-priming with volumetric accuracy guaranteed, irrespective of changes in material viscosity. As product is transported through the pump without compression, the product’s viscosity profile, texture, coloration and value are maintained.
