David Mander celebrates 30 years with Sealed Air

David Mander, UK Sales Manager for Cushioning Systems Solutions at Sealed Air is set to retire this week after a highly successful career spanning 30 years at the leading protective packaging company.

David Mander Over the past 30 years, David has been involved in the launch of many of Sealed Air’s leading brands of protective packaging to market, including Instapak®, Korrvu®, New Air I.B.® and FillTeck™ – with his most recent launch being the Instapak® Complete™ system, which offers fast, reliable production of Continuous Foam Tubes (CFTs) with minimal foam usage.

Having previously worked with one of its distributors, David made the move to Sealed Air in 1980, starting work as a Regional Sales Manager for its protective packaging portfolio, selling everything from bubble wrap to inflatable bags and foam products.

He has held various positions at the company over the years, finally becoming UK Sales Manager for Cushioning Systems Solutions in 1986.

“During my time here,” says David, “the protective packaging industry has been through many changes, making the move towards polyethylene and polyurethane due to its improved protection, weight reduction and lower cost.

“Working at Sealed Air has been a fantastic experience,” continues David. “I’ve enjoyed having the opportunity to help launch so many of our flagship products and take them out to market. It’s an excellent company to work for and I’ve met some great people over the years, not just within the sales team but right across the company and our customer base.”

Stuart Roberts, European Director of Marketing at Sealed Air said: “David has been a real asset to the company over the last 30 years and it has been invaluable to have him on board to help drive sales across the UK market. We’d like to wish him all the best for his retirement and will be sending him off in style this week with a farewell dinner.”
