On 1 January 2015, SIK (the Swedish Institute for Food and Biotechnology) will form a new unit in the parent company SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden. It will be called SP Food and Bioscience.

This means that the SP Group will create a uniform organisation with integrated and strong expertise within the field of food.

SIK will cease to exist as a separate company. The business, with a strong focus on food and biotechnology, will continue to be based in Gothernburg, Lund, Linkӧping and Umeå. The integration will enter into force on 1 January 2015. At the same time, all rights and obligations will be transferred from SIK to SP, including agreements. As SP will take over all valid supplier agreements, these agreements will be reviewed to see whether they can be renegotiated as group-wide agreements.
